What is inside a Consumer Unit?

✓   One or more of the following parts make up a consumer unit:

The main switch: 

✓   The main switch controls how much electricity comes into your home. If you need to do work on the electricity, you can use the switch to turn off the mains. When you're done, you can turn the switch back on to turn the power back on.

✓   A residual current device, or RCD, is a set of switches that keep you and your home safe. They will make it less likely that you will get shocked if you cut into a live wire by mistake. It also helps keep fires from starting in the house. It works by cutting off the electricity supply right away if it finds a problem.

✓   63A main switch with 2 x 63A RCDs consumer unit and Type 2 Surge Protection

✓   Type C  MCB's - 1 x 40A, 2 x 32A, 1 x 16A, 2 x 6A MCB’s or Type A RCBOs

✓   Flexible meter tails kits for consumer units

✓   Consumer unit gland 32mm for 16mm tails and earth

✓   10mm Earth Cable and Earth Clamp for Earth Bonding gas pipe and main water pipe

✓   100 Amp 5 Way DP Connector Block

✓   Any fitting or screw and sealant

✓   According to existing fitment.
